Guinness Book of World Records:: Monday Presentation

Since the beginning of time, people have wanted to do the best and biggest things:

World's Largest

There is even a book to documents who has the best, biggest, longest, smallest, tallest things in the world. You can email your presentation to stathopo@gmail.com

Your job is to research a record you think is interesting and present it to the class. You should answer the following questions:

What is it?
Why did you choose it?
What is the normal size/length of this object?
What the the record? Who is the second best? Can you compare them?

You should use at least 6 comparative or superlative sentences.

Be sure to include pictures or videos! I encourage you to make a short PowerPoint Presentation to go with your research. You can work alone or with a partner. If you are alone your presentation should be 3-5 minutes and with a partner 6-8. I want to hear everyone speak so I can give you feedback.

You can use this link to help you get started Guinness World Records

Create a City!

You are going to write a short description of a new town.

Please describe your city using the ideas on page 114 and the vocabulary on pg. 156 and vocabulary cards.

Be sure to include:

What is it famous for?
What is the weather like?
Is it a big city or small city?
What are the best features?
What is the natural beauty?
Is it safe/dangerous? Noisy/Quiet?

Why should I go there?

My city Acirema is a medium-sized city with 50,000 inhabitants. It is very beautiful and located in the mountains. My city is a famous for a waterfall named LE FALLS. Many tourists come each year to see the waterfall and eat toast with our most famous dish coffee butter. The weather is mild all year round. This means that there are many plants and fresh  flowers that grow all over the city. My city is safe and quiet. The architecture of my city is old. At night, it is perfect for romantic walks. The nightlife in my city centers around cafes in the city square. It is rude in my city to pass someone on the street and not say, " Gleve" which means "Good evening." I hope you visit my city for a nice, relaxing trip.
